the data
Built from live Twitch chat, 24/7. We track the top ~1,000 channels and count active chatters: people actually typing, never passive viewers. Silent bots are invisible by design, accounts that chat across dozens of channels are filtered as noise, and a dedicated fan counts far more than someone who types everywhere, so the signal is real fans.
how it works
Every few hours we measure how much every pair of channels' chats overlap, weighted toward loyal chatters. Communities aren't assigned by anyone; they emerge from that overlap and get a color. A physics simulation then lays everything out: connected streamers pull together, unrelated ones drift apart. Nothing on the map is placed by hand.
updates
The map rebuilds every ~6 hours from a rolling ~10-day window of chat, so it reflects who's active now, not months ago. Clusters grow, shrink and drift as audiences move. That's the “living” part. Each week is archived: scrub the timeline to look back.
features
Take the guided tour: it explains the map while flying through the biggest communities · tap any dot for its strongest connections, flair ranks and a link to the channel · open the leaderboards for most chatters, most active chats and the strongest bonds · trace the path between two streamers · scrub the weekly timeline.
support
twitchmap is independent and runs on donations. Collecting chat around the clock costs real money. The more support, the more streamers we can map and the more we can build. Support twitchmap 💜
